In 2011 QGC funded Gladfish as part of it Social Impact Management Plan associated with the development of LNG facilities on Curtis Island at Gladstone. The project was aimed at assessing trends in recreational fishing in Gladstone Harbour an d adjacent waterways.
The project ran from 2011-2014 and collected data on recreational catch and effort through boat ramp surveys (including the Boyne Tannum Hookup competition), fish movement and growth through tagging, fish health issues through photographing catch and views on recreational fishing through a social survey. These data were used to provide information to the community on the status of the recreational fishery in Gladstone Harbour. Reports are available from http://info-fish.net/gladfish.
